a vid from a very angry woman (who should be) that knows a thing or two about booming oil slicks, and BPs grotesque failure at it.
its disturbing.
warning: she talks like a roughneck rig hand but the message is important

holy moley mofo. that's a great one, thanks. She didn't have much nice to say about the Coast Guard guy who just parrots BP, either. So sad. Orange booms for the photos, ping pong balls for the currents, an interesting lesson in booming and who knows the practice and not. Today's the 1 month anniversary of the rig explosion, over 1.5 m barrels so far. Right after it happened, weren't there delays with booming too? And then it's done badly. I better sign off or I'll be ranting mofo rig talk too.

Today's the 1 month anniversary of the rig explosion, over 1.5 m barrels so far. That could be an underestimate. BP said 5000 barrels/day. It's been corrected to 50,000 barrels/day. Here's another estimate about flow and the size of the deposit. - The BP people are not talking, but this well is into a deposit that easily could top 500,000 barrels production per day for 10 or 15 years. - In published reports, BP estimated a blow out could reach near 200,000 Barrels per day (165,000) - The deposit is so large that while I have never heard exact numbers it was described to me to be either the largest or the second largest oil deposit ever found. - The deposit is very large. It covers an area off shore something like 25,000 square miles. pesn.com/2010/05/02/9501643_Mother_of_all_gushers_could_kill_Earths_oceans/

Oil is trapped on the wrong side of the boom - At Pass a Loutre, oil seeps deep into Louisiana marshlands"The vegetation was vibrant and it was alive with wildlife - birds were singing, fish were jumping. We saw mullets jumping, pelicans and terns and egrets flying overhead," Freeman said of the ride. 142 of 422 [images] news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100529/sc_afp/usoilpollutionenvironmentmarshland
