Wikipedia JSF edits traced to Defence computers in Alberta July 30, 2010 But using a readily available search engine on the Internet, the Ottawa Citizen has tracked the locations of the three computers to CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. The base is expected to be a major centre for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) the Harper government wants to buy. Nine attempts were made July 20 and 21 to alter the online encyclopedia's entry on the Joint Strike Fighter, including the removal of any information critical of the Conservative government's plan to spend at least $16 billion on the new fighter aircraft. Defence Department computers were also used to insert insults, aimed at Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, into the Wikipedia Joint Strike Fighter page. Ignatieff has questioned the proposed purchase. Quotes from news articles outlining opposition to the arms deal by University of British Columbia professor Michael Byers, a former NDP candidate, were also removed. www.vancouversun.com/business/Wikipedia+edits+traced+Defence+computers+Alberta/3344367/story.html#ixzz0vKh7z7o5

With the maintenance contract -
Inflation rate in 2008 had a high of what, 3.5% - and a low in 2009 of what, -0.90%. These jets are about 768% inflation rate (kinda like Zimbabwe, or Germany and France in the 1920s, or the Great Depression). If half crash it's 1530% inflation.*
2007 - $50m/ea 2010 - $138m/ea + maintenance contracts 2010 - $384m/ea
*Estimates do not include an analysis of suitability of this aircraft.

Obscene, threatening comments posted at anti-TSA website traced to Homeland Security servers Wednesday, December 29, 2010 One such comment, which has since been deleted, said, "F**k you, f**k all you c**ksuckers, you wont change anything." Another stated, "Ride the bus, TSA is here to stay there [sic] doing a great job keeping americia [sic] safe." Donnelly says that upon tracing the origin of the comments, he discovered that they came from the servers of dhs.gov, the official website of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Nineteen comments in total were all posted from the same server, including the two previously mentioned. And while all were worded in different tones and voices, they all expressed hostility to those opposing the TSA. www.naturalnews.com/030860_TSA_Homeland_Security.html

Wikipedia JSF edits traced to Defence computers in Alberta July 31, 2010 Meanwhile, after the Wikipedia JSF site was re-opened for editing by the wider public, new attempts were made to remove information critical of the Harper government's decision on the fighters. Those are linked to a downtown Calgary location. www.canada.com/business/wikipedia+edits+traced+defence+computers+alberta/3344396/story.html?id=3344396

The report, dubbed An Estimate of the Fiscal Impact of Canada's Proposed Acquisition of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, says the project will cost roughly $28.5 billion for the 65 aircraft over a 30-year period. The figure includes purchasing and maintenance costs for the aircraft. The federal government has said the jets would cost $9 billion and that maintenance costs would drive the total figure to about $16 billion over 20 years. Opposition parties have questioned the accuracy of those figures. www.canada.com/price+could+billion/4420670/story.htmlCanada F-35 cost estimate soars 66%: report - 10/03/11 Those numbers add up to a total ownership cost of $450 million per aircraft, or $29.3 billion overall, according to the PBO report. www.flightglobal.com/articles/2011/03/10/354228/canada-f-35-cost-estimate-soars-66-report.html
