Full-body scanners are waste of money, Israeli expert says Canwest News Service April 23, 2010 A leading Israeli airport security expert says the Canadian government has wasted millions of dollars to install "useless" imaging machines at airports across the country. "I don't know why everybody is running to buy these expensive and useless machines. I can overcome the body scanners with enough explosives to bring down a Boeing 747," Rafi Sela told parliamentarians probing the state of aviation safety in Canada. www.vancouversun.com/travel/Full+body+scanners+waste+money+Israeli+expert+says/2941610/story.html

So Canada got 44 scanners @ $250,000 ea. with no health or other questions asked. That's $11 million. The instigation of the sudden purchase (after being tested on Canadians in Kelowna, Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day's riding,* remember the SPP) was the Northwest Christmas Underwear Bomber, who later represented the massive intelligence failure. FARK HEADLINE: Feds claim they couldn't have known that a Nigerian on the watch list with no passport and no luggage who bought his one-way ticket with cash and whose father warned us, was a terrorist; continue to search white kids named "Sean" (Sun January 03, 2010)January 5, 2010. CBC News has confirmed that the machines, which can scan through clothing, be installed in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2010/01/05/security-canada-us-airport.htmlRAPIDSCAN & CHERTOFF Body-scan machines set to flood airports are made by Rapidscan, which is a big client of Mike Chertoff's consulting agency. Anti-terror plays like ICx, as well as American Science & Engineering(ASEI Quote) and *Implant Sciences* (?) (IMSC Quote), have become short-term momentum technology favorites. American Science ended Friday up a little more than 2%, or $1.71 to $83.53, though the company had attained a 52-week high during Friday's session above $84. American Science shares also cratered on Tuesday, with a decline of more than $6 from its current share price of $83.53. www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/story/10658183/1/homeland-security-winners-icx-osis.html?cm_ven=YAHOO&cm_cat=FREE&cm_ite=NAThe Airport Scanner Scam— By James Ridgeway | Mon Jan. 4, 2010 12:45 PM PST Within days or even hours of the bombing attempt, everyone was talking about so-called whole-body imaging as the *magic bullet* that could stop this type of attack. In announcing hearings by the Senate Homeland Security Commitee, Joe Lieberman approached the use of scanners as a foregone conclusion, saying one of the "big, urgent questions that we are holding this hearing to answer" was "Why isn’t whole-body-scanning technology that can detect explosives in wider use?" Former Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff told the Washington Post, "You’ve got to find some way of detecting things in parts of the body that aren’t easy to get at. It’s either pat downs or imaging, or otherwise hoping that bad guys haven’t figured it out, and I guess bad guys have figured it out." motherjones.com/mojo/2010/01/airport-scanner-scam?page=1*Stockwell Day was Public Safety Minister Feb-06 to Oct-08. He's Minister of International Trade now I think or maybe President of the Treasury Board and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway.

3D body scanner tested at Kelowna airport is closer to a Canada-wide launch Thursday, September 17th, 2009 | 8:00 am Passengers who agreed last year to go through a controversial new screening device at Kelowna airport have helped pave the way for the machine to be introduced nationwide. The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority debuted whole body imaging technology at the local airport as a test case for the country . The device is a clear chamber that passengers stand in as two antennas circle them, sending out radio waves. Those waves create a 3D image that highlights anything a person may be carrying, as well as the a fairly intimate outline of the subject’s entire body. www.kelowna.com/2009/09/17/3d-body-scanner-tested-at-kelowna-airport-is-closer-to-a-canada-wide-launch/

Body Scanner Operator Caught Masturbating at Colorado Airport August 4th, 2010 DENVER - USA - A full body scanner operator was caught masturbating during a scanning session by airport staff late Tuesday. Airport officials at Denver International airport were on high alert yesterday when a full body scanner operator was caught masturbating in his booth as a team of High School netball players went through the scanner. Not only do the new airport body scanners take risque pictures but according to the U.S. Marshals Service, the images in their thousands are being saved on hard disks. www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=124&a=2389

Your risks and rights with TSA's 'enhanced' screening (FAQ) November 24, 2010 4:00 AM PST In the last few weeks, TSA has been rebuked by some of the same politicians who voted unanimously to create it nearly a decade ago... And the new rules themselves? To help explain them, especially to our readers who don't fly very frequently and are preparing to head to their local airport for Thanksgiving travel, CNET has prepared the following list of frequently asked questions. Q: What should I expect if I'm flying over the holidays?A: It depends on what airports you'll be visiting. Not all have the whole-body scanners. Thanks to the federal stimulus legislation, however, TSA has been able to buy nearly 400 of the units and install them in approximately 70 airports around the country. But because there are around 2,100 security checkpoints in total, that means 80 percent of them--by number, not by passenger volume--won't have them. Another twist: CNET is hearing that even airports like Washington Dulles and San Diego, which already rolled out the full-body scanners, are not using them consistently. TSA appears to be permitting its airport supervisors to switch back to metal detectors, especially during high-traffic times. TSA generally refuses to discuss specifics, saying its procedures are "designed to be unpredictable." TSA-blocking briefs keep your privates private November 22, 2010 3:19 PM PST But what got me more than the thought that my flight could crash was that in Memphis I had to deal with the indignity of going through one of the controversial new backscatter body-scanning machines. A person I didn't know got paid to scrutinize my scrotum.,, But I didn't like it. I felt like I was being virtually strip searched. That's why I'm in favor of these new briefs designed by engineer Jeff Buske. They're regular boxer briefs, with the exception of a fig leaf-shaped radiation blocker located right over your junk. The skivvies, by the way, aren't the only radiation shield garb in the news today, as a new Belly Band is made to keep a fetus safe from radiation--including backscatter radiation. The briefs are less than $20, unisex, and machine washable, but most of all they're a great idea. The Rocky Flats Gear site also has a variety of other designs and even bra inserts. news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20023616-1.html

TSA Checks for Prostate and Bowel Cancer November 22nd, 2010 by Dr. Albert Jenkem NEW JERSEY - USA - In a much needed positive slant to intrusive extensive TSA body checks, finally some good news. "Now when you fly through an American airport, we can also give you prostate check for men and also bowel cancer checks. Women will get all cavities checked. This is also part of the new Obama Health Care initiative as well as security for a trouble free flight," Roger Sanchez, TSA operations director, at Newark airport told CNN. www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=123&a=2539

TSA's nude scans would miss taped-on bombs Peer-reviewed paper says terrorists could fool clothes-penetrating tools Posted: November 29, 2010 A new peer-reviewed scientific study says the backscatter full-body imaging X-ray machines being used by the federal Transportation Security Administration could be fooled by terrorists who simply would mold explosives to conform to their bodies. www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=234401

Everything Is A Lie: The Deliberate Intent To Deceive People Is At An All Time High August 10, 2010 Body Scanners Many of these scanners are reportedly using terahertz (THz) waves, the radiation that fills the slot in the electromagnetic spectrum between microwaves and infrared. Evidence preventdisease.com/news/09/110109_body_scanners_thz_waves.shtml suggests that although the forces generated are tiny, resonant effects allow THz waves to unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles in the double strand that could significantly interfere with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication. As the path toward rolling out wider use of whole-body scanners in U.S. airports ran through the White House, Obama expedited their deployment because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) didn't need legislation from Congress to start using the devices at any of the 560 U.S. airports. The White House ignored all the scientific evidence presented which suggested negative health effects. Politicians and regulatory agencies then covered up the bad publicity on naked body scanners preventdisease.com/news/10/020510_body_scanners_increase_cancer_risk.shtml [Radiation Safety Group Says Naked Body Scanners Increase Risk Of Cancer] and focused on the presumed benefits under the guise of public safety. Privacy commissioners and airport authorities have also insisted that there were no risks of images being stored or personal details being revealed to security screeners. Now there's new evidence to show that the scanners can do just that. According to a CNET report news.cnet.com/8301-31921_3-20012583-281.html [Feds admit storing checkpoint body scan images], another federal agency, the U.S. Marshall's service, admitted that it had actually stored over 30,000 images recorded by a full-body scanner used at a Florida courthouse. preventdisease.com/news/10//081010_everything_is_a_lie.shtml

Oh great… now we find out that evidently the new TSA scanners, costing untold hundreds of millions $, can be tricked or fooled to miss deadly levels of explosives. Reports are popping up from various mainstream sources indicating this apparent fact. Having investigated further, the source of all the reporting is a recently published scientific paper titled, “An evaluation of airport x-ray backscatter units based on image characteristics“, written by Leon Kaufman & Joseph W. Carlson. modernsurvivalblog.com/current-events-economics-politics/tsa-backscatter-scanners-tricked/
