Meredith was appointed to the Canadian Senate on December 18, 2010
---- Harper appointee, Dr Meredith ----
A Conservative senator has repaid the cost of a contentious trip to Washington, D.C., even as fresh, unrelated questions emerge about his resume...
Mr. Meredith’s website says he has an honourary doctor of divinity from the Canadian Christian Clinical Counsellors’ Association. Mr. Meredith received the honourary degree in 2011, according to his newsletter, months after Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed him to the Senate.
Postmedia couldn’t locate any listing on the Ontario government’s website attesting to the association’s ability to grant degrees under the Canada Christian Colleges Act.
However, the group appears linked to the institution that Mr. Meredith’s website says is where he received a master’s degree: the California State Christian College. That college isn’t permitted to grant graduate degrees, according to California’s agency overseeing private schools, nor is it accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.
The toll-free number on the school’s website leads to an online business called HardwareBundler.com.

Meredith’s wife Michelle used Twitter to express support for her husband. “The more dirt they throw on you, the stronger your roots grow,” she wrote, adding in capital letters: “Our family stands strong.”
Michelle Meredith is the president of the federal Conservative electoral district association in Richmond Hill, just north of Toronto.
A CTV News report Thursday said Meredith is facing allegations from staff members of verbal abuse, sexual harassment and bullying, prompting the Opposition NDP to ask during question period about the safety of women in the workplace.

Don Meredith’s Senate ethics review on hold due to criminal investigation -- 2015/10/02
OTTAWA—An ethics investigation into Sen. Don Meredith, a former member of the Conservative caucus, is on hold while other authorities investigate allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a teenager.
Senate ethics officer Lyse Ricard said Friday she has suspended her review of Meredith because she believes it is in the public interest that she not interfere with an ongoing investigation.
Ricard didn’t say what other “authority” is looking into Meredith, but the clause in the Senate ethics code cited by Ricard only kicks in when police ask the ethics officer to put a review on hold.
