Australia’s Uranium Bonanza: Making the World a More Dangerous Place The Eager Role of Julia Gillard October 24, 2012 Australia has 40% of the world’s uranium, all of it on indigenous land. Prime Minister Julia Gillard has just been to India to sell uranium to a government that refuses to sign the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and whose enemy, Pakistan, is also a non-signatory. The threat of nuclear war between them is constant. Uranium is an essential ingredient of nuclear weapons. Gillard’s deal in Delhi formally ends the Australian Labor Party’s long-standing policy of denying uranium to countries that reject the NPT’s obligation “to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament”. Like the people of Japan, Australian Aborigines have experienced the horror of nuclear weapons. During the 1950s, the British government tested atomic bombs at Maralinga in South Australia. The Aboriginal population was not consulted and received scant or no warning, and still suffer the effects. Yami Lester was a boy when he saw the nuclear flash and subsequently went blind. The enduring struggle of Aboriginal people for recognition as human beings has been a fight not only for their land but for what lies beneath it. Since they were granted a status higher than that of sheep — up to 1971, unlike the sheep, they were not counted – many of their modest land rights have been subverted or diminished by governments in Canberra. www.globalresearch.ca/australias-uranium-bonanza-making-the-world-a-more-dangerous-place/5309448Jim Blight has spent the past 25 years studying the nuances and intimate details of those 13 days, along with the years that led up to them. Senate readies bill allowing hunters to import stored polar bear pelts Posted on Wed, Nov. 14, 2012 05:45 AM Alaska argues to keep polar bear off ‘threatened’ list WASHINGTON -- Legislation poised to pass the Senate would allow a small group of hunters who’ve been storing polar bear pelts in Canada to import them to the United States. The bill, which is described as one of the most sweeping pieces of legislation for sportsmen in a generation, will be among the first to be passed by the Senate in the days following the election. The Senate voted 92-5 Tuesday to move the bill forward to a full vote later this week. Read more here: www.kansascity.com/2012/11/13/3916390/senate-readies-bill-allowing-hunters.html#storylink=cpy

Truth and Reconciliation Commission is facing funding and bureaucratic problems Volume: 29 | Issue: 9 | Year: 2011 RCMP files, records of missing children, graves may never surface if Ottawa wins battle with TRC National News | 03. Dec, 2012 OTTAWA–Indian residential school records on dead and missing children and abuse complaints to the RCMP may never see the light of day if Ottawa gets its way in its battle with the commission created to shed light on Canada’s darkest chapter, according to court documents. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) is taking Ottawa to court over its refusal to hand over millions of records related to the 150 year existence of Indian residential schools. The court fight has been described as a battle for control over the history of residential schools. The TRC alleges in court documents that the Harper government is refusing to release documents and files written following the closure of a residential school, even though some of these schools opened and closed on an ongoing basis and sometimes shut down and reopened in the same building. aptn.ca/pages/news/2012/12/03/rcmp-files-records-of-missing-children-graves-may-never-surface-if-ottawa-wins-battle-with-trc/ore:

Rogue geoengineer creates massive Pacific plankton bloom 20 October 12 An American businessman is under fire after dumping 100 tonnes of iron sulphate into the Pacific Ocean www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/oct/15/pacific-iron-fertilisation-geoengineering off the coast of Canada under the guise of a geoengineering experiment. Russ George, who claims to be the world's leading "champion" of geoengineering, created an artificial plankton bloom around 10,000 square kilometres across -- so large it was visible from space. His hope was that the plankton would absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, die, and then sink to the sea bed. However, ocean fertilisation on this scale is prohibited under Canadian law and United Nations rules as it can harm ocean ecosystems, suck oxygen out of the water and worsen ocean acidification and climate change. The dump took place about 370 kilometres west of the Haida Gwaii islands. George convinced the local council of an indigenous village there that his project would help spawn more salmon, persuading them to invest more than £625,000 of their own funds into the project. "The village people voted to support what they were told was a 'salmon enhancement project' and would not have agreed if they had been told of any potential negative effects or that it was in breach of an international convention," said the president of the Haida nation, Guujaaw. There are also questions over how much the Canadian government knew about the project beforehand www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/oct/17/canada-geoengineering-pacific?intcmp=122 John Disney, the chief executive of the company behind the experiment (of which George is the "chief scientist"), said in an interview with Canadian radio that officers from the Canadian environment agency, among others, met with the company beforehand but didn't take any further action. George has attempted to defend his experiment, saying he is being vilified. "If somebody doesn't step forward to save the oceans, it's too late," he told the Globe and Mail. www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-10/20/plankton-bloomOctober 16, 2012. The idea of sprinkling iron in the sea to promote the growth of phytoplankton came from California businessman Russ George. Scientists are worried about side effects such as ocean acidification — George's vessels were barred from ports by the Spanish and Ecuadorean governments after he attempted to dump iron in the ocean near the Canary and Galapagos Islands. George claims the plankton will absorb carbon dioxide, opening the door to selling carbon credits. That's what the Old Mas-sett village council and economic development officer John Disney are counting on. More than $2 million has been borrowed for the project from village reserve funds through the Haida Salmon Restoration Corp. Disney, who has shepherded the project through the council and a village vote, said carbon credit sales will start as soon as the data has been tabulated and will be used to repay the debt to the community.... Iron sulphate — iron-rich dust from Alberta — was taken by a local ship in July and put into a moving eddy in the ocean, which is now about 400 kilometres offshore, Disney said. www.timescolonist.com/business/haida-gwaii-we-have-created-life-out-there-1.201017 October 2012. Russ George, a colleague of Disney's, told the Guardian: "Canadian government people have been helping us. We've had workshops run where we've been taught how to use satellites resources by the Canadian space agency. [The government] is trying to 'cost-share' with us on certain aspects of the project. And we are expecting lots more support as we go forward." www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/oct/17/canada-geoengineering-pacific

Penashue offers few details on campaign spending TRANSCRIPT ~ of nothing Reporter: I want to talk about election financing.Penashue: (nods) Reporter: First of all I guess um just want to ask what's the status of the loan right now that you took our during the last election campaign.Penashue: Let me just say first of all that during the campaign we worked very hard to get elected and I think we were uh very successful at that. And we made some um, errors and we are working with Elections Canada to rectify those.
Reporter: Do you take responsibility for the errors that were made by your campaign? Penashue: Well, we've ah -- as I've said --- we've ah you know we've um -- we've made a submission and um we are working with Elections Canada to rectify those ah concerns.
Reporter: But do you take responsibility for what happened in your campaign? Penashue: As I've said, we've made submissions to Elections Canada and we are working with Elections Canada to recify those concerns.
Reporter: Do you dispute their claims that your campaign overspent during the last election? Penashue: What I've said, is that we've made a submission to Elections Canada and we are working with them to rectify any errors that we've made.
Reporter: What role did Paul Rich play in your election campaign? Penashue: Again we have as I've said we've made a submission to Elections Canada and um and uh we are dealing with any errors that we may have made and um and uh and we're you know working working very very hard to make sure that uh that we have those uh rectified.
Reporter: But we're not talking about errors here, just talking about Mr. Rich and what was his involvement in your campaign? Penashue: As I've said you know I we've worked very hard for, in this campaign. We've made a submission to, to Elections Canada. And uh we will be, uh and we're working with Elections Canada to rectify any errors we have made.
Reporter: But does that "submission" have anything to do with Mr. Rich? Penashue: As I've said we are working with Elections Canada to rectify any concerns that were any errors that we've made may have made.
Reporter: When do you expect the loan will be re-paid? Penashue: And uh (coughs). As I've said we are working with Elections Canada to rectify any errors that we have made.

#idlenomore, Chief Spence's hunger strike Theresa Spence’s mother died on Christmas Day. Spence was nine years old. Officials at her school barred her from attending her mother’s funeral. Had the PM called Chief Spence on Christmas Day 2012, one wonders what ghosts he might have helped exorcise. Instead, he was working on his New Year’s Eve message about how his government “continued to strengthen First Nation relationships in 2012.” www.ipolitics.ca/2013/01/03/theresa-spence-standing-up-for-citizenship-against-harpers-silence/

Harry Wilson: 1953-2012 In March of 2011, he told Kevin Annett that two men had beaten him severely and threatened to kill him if he spoke at investigative forums of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State. "So I got it all the time. I had to hide out at night or they'd get me so I broke out of the place once and I found the body of a dead girl right behind Caldwell Hall. She was from up north. She was about sixteen, all naked and covered in blood. I ran and told Andrews (school Principal). But then he shipped me out to Nanaimo hospital and they put me in a padded cell, stuck needles in me so I wouldn't talk. They kept me there for months, giving me shocks, doing experiments on me." William Combes, 1952-2011 March 13, 2011. The man who claimed to witness “the abduction of ten fellow residential school children by the Queen of England and her husband in October, 1964 at the Catholic school in Kamloops, B.C. has died suddenly… “William Combes, age 59 and in good health, was scheduled to be a primary witness at the opening session of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) on September 12 in London… “William was the sole survivor of a group of three aboriginal boys who claim to have witnessed the abduction of ten children during a royal visit to the Kamloops residential school in mid October, 1964, when both the Queen and Prince Philip were in Canada. “‘They took away those ten kids and nobody ever saw them again’ described William… According to William Coombes’ signed and witnessed declaration made on February 3, 2010: “I am … 58 years old. I live in Vancouver, Canada. “I am a survivor of the Kamloops and Mission Indian residential schools, both run by the Roman Catholic church. “I suffered terrible tortures there at the hands especially of Brother Murphy, who killed at least two children. “I witnessed him throw a child off a three story balcony to her death. “He put me on a rack and broke some of my bones, in the Kamloop school basement, after I tried running away. “I also saw him and another priest burying a child in the school orchard one night. “In October, 1964 when I was 12 years old, I was an inmate at the Kamloops school and we were visited by the Queen of England and Prince Phillip… “The day the Queen got to the school, I was part of a group of kids that went on a picnic with her and her husband and some of the priests, down to a meadow near Dead Man’s Creek. “I remember it was weird because we all had to bend down and kiss her foot, a white laced boot. “After awhile, I saw the Queen leave the picnic with ten children from the school, and those kids never returned. “We never heard anything more about them and never met them again even when we were older. They were all from around there but they all vanished. “The group that disappeared was seven boys and three girls, in age from six to fourteen years old…”According to his partner Mae, William was in stable health and was assigned a new doctor at St. Paul’s Hospital this past week. William was then committed to the hospital for “tests”, and his health began to immediately deteriorate. He died suddenly yesterday of a still-undisclosed cause. The Vancouver Coroner’s Office refuses to comment on William’s death. www.adamite.com/2011/03/09/kevin-annett-reacts-to-death/___________________________ -- Documents show a death rate of 50%. “The report says church officials killed children by beating, poisoning, electric shock, starvation, prolonged exposure to sub-zero cold while naked, and medical experimentation, including the removal of organs and radiation exposure.” 1. The United Church provided aboriginal children from its schools for drug-testing, radiation experiments and CIA mind control programs. 2. The United Church may have knowledge of a pedophile ring, associated with The Vancouver Club, which involves United Church clergy, lawyers and judges. more: inpursuitofhappiness.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/the-queen-and-missing-kids/ "The Queen and Missing Kids"
