Sea salt and baking soda, best all natural remedy for curing radiation exposure and cancer. Saturday, April 9th, 2011 Baking soda is so powerful in curing radiation contamination that at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, researcher Don York has used baking soda to clean soil contaminated with uranium. Sodium bicarbonate binds with uranium, separating it from the dirt; so far, York has removed as much as 92 percent of the uranium from contaminated soil samples. Still not convinced? Would it help to know that the United States Army recommends the use of baking soda to protect the kidneys from radiation damage. presscore.ca/2011/?p=2211

Bruce Power drops nuclear plant ambitions for Alberta Updated: Tuesday, December 13, 2011 09:28 AM MST No nuclear power plant is coming for Alberta — Ontario-based Bruce Power has pulled out of the project it’s been pushing since 2007. In a press release issued Monday, no reason was given for the decision, with Duncan Hawthorne, Bruce Power president and CEO, stating “we’ve decided the new nuclear option in Alberta is not something our company will be progressing further.” www.edmontonsun.com/2011/12/12/bruce-power-drops-nuclear-plant-ambitions-for-alberta

In a press release issued Monday, no reason was given for the decision, with Duncan Hawthorne, Bruce Power president and CEO, stating “we’ve decided the new nuclear option in Alberta is not something our company will be progressing further.” No Subsidies? - Wildrose Alliance leader Danielle Smith tours PeacePosted 4 months ago. According to the party's website (www.wildrose.ca) they claim that the current government has completely mismanaged the way infrastructure dollars have been spent. They claim hundreds of millions of dollars have been given out "based on political calculation and favouritism rather than on the needs of Albertans". They say billions of dollars have been spent on facilities the government cannot actually afford to staff, and even more money has been spent on corporate welfare projects like carbon capture and storage, which involves capturing CO2 in the air and storing it under ground. Speaking of nuclear power, Smith says that after conversing with Bruce Power, she does not foresee nuclear power coming to Alberta. According to Smith, Bruce Power needed a guarantee for 30 years of government subsidy at $0.09 - $0.11 per kilowatt hour with a guarantee of cost escalation in the event of unforeseen costs. "That's just not competitive," says Smith, "I just think that if your proposal requires a subsidy from the government, then you're probably in the wrong business. We are not the kind of party that would support direct subsidies for individual firms, if they can't put forward a business plan that actually makes sense in this market environment then it's not going to happen." www.prrecordgazette.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3231396&archive=true

Japan PM says Fukushima nuclear site finally stabilised16 December 2011 Last updated at 07:06 ET Forty yearsMore than 80,000 people had to leave the area, but radiation levels in some places remain too high for them to return home. Earlier this week, the government said it could take up to 40 years to fully decommission the plant and clean up surrounding areas. Spent fuel rods and melted fuel inside the reactors must be removed. Waste water must also be safely stored. Contamination has been found in foodstuffs from the region including rice, beef and fish, while radioactive soil has also been found in some areas. Some experts have also warned that the plant could be further damaged if a powerful aftershock were to strike. Engineers are also continuing to encounter new problems - last week Tepco officials confirmed that 45 cu m (1,590 cu ft) of water had leaked into the sea from a crack in the foundation of a water treatment facility. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16212057Bill Gates On Nuclear Energy: Compared To Coal, It Is Still Safer In Terms Of People "Killed Per Kilowatt Hour" - Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 techcrunch.com/2011/05/03/bill-gates-nuclear/Wild monkeys to help detect radiation from crippled Fukushima nuclear plant - 2 days ago worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/12/14/9453896-wild-monkeys-to-help-detect-radiation-from-crippled-fukushima-nuclear-plant

Detailed Illustrations of Mutated Insects Challenge the Science Of Nuclear Power Energy / Energy Disasters December 13, 2011 Originally working as a scientific illustrator for the scientific department of the Natural History Museum at the University of Zurich for 25 years, Hesse-Honegger began her unusual study after the 1986 disaster at Chernobyl. Hesse-Honegger began collecting and documenting "morphologically disturbed" insects in Switzerland and Sweden, in zones which were affected by the fallout blown from Chernobyl and into Europe. In 1987, Hesse-Honegger travelled to Chernobyl itself, collecting and recording malformed specimens, focusing on leaf bugs, which are incapable of travelling far from their habitats. She later published her findings, only to face criticism from scientists who insisted that the radioactive fallout could not cause these transformations. www.treehugger.com/energy-disasters/paintings-mutated-insects-nuclear-power-cornelia-hesse-honegger.html

Protests started after the Ukrainian parliament announced plans to cut social benefits for those involved in the clean-up effort following the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, the world’s worst nuclear accident. Veterans were screaming and demanding the Ukrainian parliament commissioner for Human Rights Nina Karpachova to come out. Did the Dimona Dozen murder the Fukushima 50?. Fukushima may in fact have been caused by an act of war under the cover of an environmental disaster. Stuxnet was designed specifically to target Siemens SCADA controllers and is most effective at tampering with fluid control systems. The centrifuges it attacked in Iran were ideal. So are the fluid control systems at a nuclear facility. Oil refineries are equally at risk, Stuxnet is most dangerous when affecting a system which needs to control the flow of any liquid, be it hydraulic, for cooling, or combining chemicals. Stuxnet is documented to have been produced by the Israeli Defense Forces, for the purpose of destroying any industrial system that can be destroyed by improper fluid flow. Magna BSP, a Dimona based company with no history outside of IDF contracts prior to Fukushima has a suspiciously short domain history despite a 10 year claimed history. Magna BSP had a full time internet linked two way connection to the Fukushima reactor room(s) all the way through the disaster. They told TEPCO about that connection on March 15 (after everything blew sky high) via an article printed in the Jerusalem Post. Why did Manga BSP wait until everything was blown sky high to tell Tepco the data link existed, and then did not tell them face to face? www.jimstonefreelance.com/fukushima.htmlNEW INFO: Japan offered to enrich uranium for IRAN AND FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE DIMONA DOZEN SHOWED UP WITH A REALLY FANCY CAMERA [Magna BSP'S "owl."] Stuxnet is documented to have been produced by the Israeli Defense Forces, for the purpose of destroying any industrial system that can be destroyed by improper fluid flow. Nuclear commission says Point Lepreau leaks 'unsettling' Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission head concerned by recent incidents at plant Posted: Jan 9, 2012 4:53 AM AT Last Updated: Jan 9, 2012 1:34 PM AT The head of Canada's Nuclear Safety Commission says two recent incidents at New Brunswick's Point Lepreau nuclear generating station are "unsettling." On Dec. 13, there was a radioactive spill. Up to six litres of heavy water splashed to the floor, forcing an evacuation of the reactor building and halt of operations. Then, on Dec. 14, NB Power issued a news release, admitting there had been another type of spill three weeks earlier. About 23 barrels of water laced with the toxic chemical hydrazine was released into the Bay of Fundy. Both incidents occurred as part of preparations for restarting the plant, which has been undergoing refurbishments for nearly four years. more: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/story/2012/01/06/nb-nuclear-commission-lepreau-leaks.html
