Is the Sun Emitting a Mystery Particle? Tue, 18 Jan 2011 14:21 CST This is exactly what has been noticed in recent years; the decay rates of radioactive elements are changing. This is especially mysterious as we are talking about elements with "constant" decay rates -- these values aren't supposed to change. School textbooks teach us this from an early age. This is the conclusion that researchers from Stanford and Purdue University have arrived at, but the only explanation they have is even weirder than the phenomenon itself: The sun might be emitting a previously unknown particle that is meddling with the decay rates of matter. Or, at the very least, we are seeing some new physics. Article: www.sott.net/articles/show/221746-Is-the-Sun-Emitting-a-Mystery-Particle-'Project X' Will Take Fermilab into Next Decade January 20, 2011 The loss of its Tevatron particle accelerator, planned for October, will not take the physics lab out of the international research community, director states. geneva.patch.com/articles/top-secret-project-x-will-take-fermilab-into-next-decadeMore follow up on the solar-neutrinos-radioactive decay story – experimental falsification Posted on September 27, 2010 by Anthony Watts wattsupwiththat.com/2010/09/27/more-follow-up-on-the-solar-neutrinos-radioactive-decay-story-experimental-falsification/Unexpected antineutrino masses a puzzler for Standard Model Last updated 7 months ago Two weeks ago, experimental results seemed to indicate that we're getting a handle on the low-mass particles called neutrinos. Today, Fermilab announced results generated using antineutrinos that suggests we may need to make major revisions to the Standard Model of physics. The textbook description of antimatter is that it's like a mirror image of more familiar particles. But new work from Fermilab indicates that the mass differences among antineutrinos aren't the same as those for regular neutrinos. If the findings hold up, they would call for some new physics to explain the discrepancy. Like the earlier results, the new data relies on observations of neutrino flavor changes. Neutrinos and antineutrinos, unlike other particles, appear not to have a fixed nature. They exist as a mixture of three identities—electron, muon, and tau—and a given particle oscillates among these identities in a probabilistic manner that depends in part on the mass differences among the three classes. So, if we can observe these oscillations, we can get some indication of the relative masses of these extremely light particles. arstechnica.com/science/news/2010/06/antineutrino-masses-throw-physics-a-curve.ars1-2-3 father sun holy ghost strange triplets Topologist Predicts New Form of Matter - 12/16/2010 A link between quantum mechanics and topology implies the existence of an entirely new state of matter. And physicists have already found the first example... It turns out that there is formal mathematical analogy between the Borromean ring and the strange triplets of cesium that Efimov predicted. The mathematics of quantum mechanics and of topology turn out to be the same. www.technologyreview.com/blog/arxiv/26144/

Betelgeuse - supernova The star Betelgeuse going supernova soon? SN 1054 (Crab Supernova) was a supernova that was widely seen on Earth in the year 1054. It was recorded by Chinese, Japanese, Native Americans, and Persian/Arab astronomers as being bright enough to see in daylight for 23 days and was visible in the night sky for 653 days.[1][2][3] The progenitor star was located in the Milky Way galaxy at a distance of 6,300 light years and exploded as a core-collapse supernova. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SN_1054According to wikipedia it is 640 ly from us, so it will take 640 years to reach us. BUT - could be it already exploded 639 years, 11 months on 29 days ago, we just don't know yet. www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=405304Betelgeuse Supernova: Two Suns for Earth Spells Doom? Even it if explodes today, we won’t know about it for 640 years. On the other hand, it may have exploded 638 years ago, which means that we’ll see this spectacular event next year in 2012. Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse may blow-up, blow-up, blow-up!As far as any additional radiation, there would be little effect on the Earth. Neutrinos would be the first sub-atomic particle to bombard us from such a supernova. However, these charged particles have very little mass. Even today, our own Sun, as well as other cosmic sources, bombard the Earth with neutrinos. They pass harmlessly through everything, including our bodies. law.rightpundits.com/?p=2753

Quantum Entanglement Could Stretch Across Time January 21, 2011 In the weird world of quantum physics, two linked particles can share a single fate, even when they're miles apart. Now, two physicists have mathematically described how this spooky effect, called entanglement, could also bind particles across time. If their proposal can be tested, it could help process information in quantum computers and test physicists' basic understanding of the universe. www.wired.com/wiredscience/2011/01/timelike-entanglement

Discover How Your Consciousness Affects Your Health, Your Environment and Mother Earth DR. EMOTO: This is one of the more difficult areas to clarify. However, from continuing these experiments we have come to the conclusion that the water is reacting to the actual words. For example, for our trip to Europe we tried using the words "thank you" and "you fool" in German. The people on our team who took the actual photographs of the water crystals did not understand the German for "you fool", and yet we were able to obtain exactly the same kind of results in the different crystal formations based on the words used. www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/research_emoto.htm

"a vast reservoir of negative electricity" Tesla was fascinated by radiant energy and its free-energy possibilities. He called the Crooke's radiometer, a device which has vanes that spin in a vacuum when exposed to radiant energy "a beautiful invention." He believed that it would become possible to harness energy directly by "connecting to the very wheel-work of nature." On his 76th birthday at his yearly ritual press conference, Tesla announced a "cosmic-ray motor" when asked if it was more powerful than the Crooke's radiometer, he answered, "thousands of times more powerful." In 1901 Nikola Tesla was one the first to identify "radiant energy." Tesla says that the source of this energy is our Sun. He concluded that the Sun emits small particles, each carrying so small of a charge, that they move with great velocity, exceeding that of light. Tesla further states that these particles are the neutron particles. Tesla believed that these neutron particles were responsible for all radioactive reactions. Radiant matter is in tune with these neutron particles. Radiant matter is simply a re-transmitter of energy from one state to another. Philadelphia Public Ledger November 2, 1933 Tesla 'Harnesses' Cosmic Energy Inventor announces discovery to displace fuel in driving machinery. Calls Sun main source. A principle by which power for driving machinery of the world may be developed from the cosmic energy which operates the universe, has been discovered by Nikola Tesla, noted physicist and inventor of scientific devices, he announced today. This principle, which taps a source of power described as "everywhere present in unlimited quantities" and which may be transmitted by wire or wireless from central plants to any part of the globe, will eliminate the need of coal, oil, gas or any other of the common fuels, he said. Dr. Tesla in a statement today at his hotel indicated the time was not far distant when the principle would be ready for practical commercial development. Asked whether the sudden introduction of his principle would upset the present economic system, Dr. Tesla replied, "It is badly upset already." He added that now as never before was the time ripe for the development of new resources. While in its present form, the theory calls for the development of energy in central plants requiring vast machinery. Dr. Tesla said he might be able to work out a plan for its use by individuals. The central source of cosmic energy for the earth is the Sun, Dr. Tesla said, but "night will not interrupt the flow of new power supply." References [1] Nikola Tesla, U.S. Patent #512,340, "COIL FOR ELECTRO MAGNETS," he explains that a standard coil of 1000 turns with a potential of 100 volts across it will have a difference of .1 volt between turns. A similar bifilar coil will have a potential of 50 volts between turns. In that the stored energy is a function of the square of the voltages the energy in the bifilar will be 502/.12 = 2500/.01 = 250,000 times greater than the standard coil. www.nuenergy.org/alt/tesla_energy.htm

Strange cosmic ray hotspots stalk southern skies 16:42 03 May 2011 Others have proposed that a local phenomenon called magnetic reconnection – in which solar magnetic field lines cross and rearrange, converting magnetic energy to kinetic energy – could be accelerating local cosmic rays to energies in the TeV range and beaming them towards Earth, creating the observed hotspots. "It implies that we have a Tevatron in the solar system," says Aharonian, referring to the particle accelerator at Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois. "That's also crazy, but it is at least less crazy than other explanations." www.newscientist.com/article/dn20436-strange-cosmic-ray-hotspots-stalk-southern-skies.html

Boo! Hiss! Dutch Scientist Rains on Faster-Than-Light Neutrino Parade October 15, 2011 07:09pm EST A new paper arxiv.org/abs/1110.2685 by Dutch researcher Ronald A.J. van Elburg lays out the case that the GPS satellite measuring the neutrinos' movements was also moving relative to the CERN and OPERA facilities as it orbited the Earth. Briefly, van Elburg asserts that the effects of relativity as they pertain to the GPS satellite's measurements require two corrections to the perceived time of travel. Lo and behold, it turns out that applying that double correction shaves 64 nanoseconds off the neutrinos' travel time, according to van Elburg, "[t]hus bringing the apparent velocities of neutrinos back to a value not significantly different from the speed of light." www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2394747,00.asp
