Canada's Civilization museum's $25M rebranding to focus on history European Union Re-Naming WWII The “European Civil War” Historical letters not wanted at Library and Archives Canada, critics say Published on Sun Mar 10 2013 Indeed, since 2009, Library and Archives Canada hasn’t wanted a whole lot of the historic letters, journals, books and maps it once collected so dutifully, critics say. It has also, they charge, stopped collecting a comprehensive array of this country’s current cultural and artistic output and limited the access that academics and genealogists have to its Ottawa-based materials. And as of February, it’s barely even lending out books anymore. A decade-old service, LAC’s interlibrary lending program gave libraries across the country access to its unparalleled Canadian book collection, a reservoir that includes at least two copies of any piece of literature published in the country since the 1950s. more: www.thestar.com/news/insight/2013/03/10/historical_letters_not_wanted_at_library_and_archives_canada_critics_say.html

Atatürk Forest Farm and Zoo. However, the court passed judgment on March 4 and upheld the protected status of the site. According to the law, the construction must be halted and the already-built structures must be razed. Often referred to as “the lungs of Ankara,” the forest is an expansive recreational farming area that houses a zoo, several small agricultural farms, greenhouses, restaurants, a dairy farm and a brewery. The farm’s name is a tribute to its founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The Court of Accounts had earlier stated in a 2012 report that the historic farm and the heritage of Atatürk had been misused. www.hurriyetdailynews.com/court-decision-to-halt-construction-of-prime-ministry-in-ataturk-forest-farm.aspx?pageID=238&nID=63220&NewsCatID=340wiki: On March 4, 2014, an administrative court in Ankara ordered the suspension of the palace's construction. The suspension order was supported by the Council of State on March 13. Erdoğan ignored the decision, saying "Let them tear it down if they can. They ordered suspension, yet they can't stop the construction of this building. I'll be opening it; I'll be moving in and using it".[7] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_Palace,_Ankara www.balkaneu.com/erdogan-inaugurates-presidential-palace/
