According to Bill Berkowitz, at Media Transparency, Frank Luntz has been keeping busy these days advising Canada's own Stephen Harper. Read the full story here.
Also interesting is this piece from the Kitchener Waterloo Record. It would seem we're not being terribly creative with our approach – read on to find out how Environment Minister Ambrose is using Luntz's tactics almost to the letter these days.
Tory Kyoto strategy mirrors U.S. plan May 15, 2006
Environmentalists say the Conservatives' communications strategy on climate change almost exactly echoes advice in a three-year-old briefing book written by U.S. pollster and communications adviser Frank Luntz.
Luntz is famous for what he calls "language guidance'' -- the use of simple messages, carefully tested and frequently repeated, to overcome public suspicions on potentially unpopular policies.

Auditor General slams Conservatives for G20/G8 decisions and spending AG's report suggests Conservatives misled Parliament over G20/G8 spending. Ottawa (18 June 2011) - The Interim Auditor General, John Wiersema, released his offices’ final report on the Expenditures for the 2010 G8 and G20 Summits and the G8 Legacy Infrastructure Fund confirming there were major problems in the decision making process, allocation and use of funds surrounding the G20 and G8 meetings in Canada. For the most part, the report contained much of the same information found in the draft report, leaked during the 2011 federal election. The report includes multiple references to the lack of transparency and accountability in decision-making regarding the 32 projects that went to the, then-Industry Minister, Tony Clement’s riding of Muskoka where the G8 took place. Mr. Wiersema stated, “When government presents a request for funds to Parliament, it should be transparent about the intended use of the money.” ... The accountability of the decision-making process was called into question revealing that no federal civil servants or bureaucrats were involved in the project selection process. www.nupge.ca/content/4344/auditor-general-slams-conservative-g20-decisions-and-spendingDid public servants advise Baird to use the border infrastructure fund for G8 projects or did they not. Public concern remains high that this kind of abuse of power may occur again. Tony Clement, now-Treasury Board minister

Federal officials are circulating to all 18,000 U.S. law enforcement agencies a… civil rights video??!! August 3, 2011 at 1:40 am In reality they constantly violate our civil liberties and even mentioning the constitution or your rights is automatic grounds for arrest. They murder us over $2 bus fares, beat us while handcuffed, beat us to death, pepper spray us to death, and beat us for filming them, beat us after they learn our children just committed suicide, kill us then doctor the tapes, use their TSA goons to give us brain damage at airports, execute us for telling them they need a search warrant to enter our homes, and then confiscate and smash cameras containing video of their massacres and in each and every instance lie about us and say we were resisting arrest. blog.alexanderhiggins.com/2011/08/03/federal-officials-circulating-18000-law-enforcement-agencies-civil-rights-video-48431/Alberta ‘s RCMP fiasco as well. A brief word on Tony Clement’s arse September 20, 2011 2:00pm Charlie Angus laments for the fact that John Baird continues to take questions directed at Tony Clement. He’s accountable to the Canadian people through the House of Commons. They have turned his role in the House of Commons into some kind of private joke with him and John Baird. www2.macleans.ca/2011/09/20/a-brief-word-on-tony-clements-arse/Categories: Beyond The Commons, Capital Read
