A local electrician has proven the old adage if you build a better mousetrap the world will beat a path to your door. Pleasant View’s [Tennessee] Jerry Johnson has built a mousetrap with a little peanut butter that captured numerous mice and even a few snakes, but his latest invention, the Black Hawk Energy Saver, is set to revolutionize the home and commercial electric market.
The small box when added to an electric panel can recycle, store and use consistent electric flow to major appliances that reduce electric costs. The unit has been installed at several homes as well as researched and tested thoroughly by Texas A&M University revealing significant cuts in electric use.
Johnson said he was told by several engineers and experts that it would not work, but he continued to work through trial and error until he found the way to have the device go to market at an affordable price for all homeowners.
“I have told the investors out of Texas that I want to make sure this can be affordable for homeowners who need to cut electric bills. I know what it take to build one and when it gets into production, the costs can be cut lower, so I’m going to make sure the price is not escalated to where only rich people can afford it.”
John has copies of three electric bills from CEMC where a home’s electric use and costs had dropped up to 40% after the unit was installed. The consistent flow of electricity would lower maintenance and repair costs on major appliances and heat and air units that work harder and have more wear and tear from the typical drop of electric current when demand kicks in on the larger appliances.
