Klaus Dona has been the Art Exhibition Curator for the Habsburg Haus of Austria since 1991. Mr. Dona has organized 30 cultural exhibitions in Austria, Japan and Korea. Being a specialist in culture and art exhibitions, his attention was automatically drawn to a phenomenon called 'Ooparts' - out of place artifacts. These are artifacts that should not exist according to current science. Klaus Dona has been researching these types of artifacts for over a decade and, after a long preparation, decided to set up an exhibition of 470 of these (Ooparts) pieces, which he called 'Unsolved Mysteries'. www.unsolved-mysteries.info/

Pizzly bear, Prizzly bear or Grolar bear - DNA analysis has confirmed that a bear shot in the Canadian Arctic last month is a half-polar bear, half-grizzly hybrid. World-first hybrid shark found off Australia AFPBy Amy Coopes | AFP – 15 hours ago Scientists said on Tuesday that they had discovered the world's first hybrid sharks in Australian waters, a potential sign the predators were adapting to cope with climate change. The mating of the local Australian black-tip shark with its global counterpart, the common black-tip, was an unprecedented discovery with implications for the entire shark world, said lead researcher Jess Morgan. "It's very surprising because no one's ever seen shark hybrids before, this is not a common occurrence by any stretch of the imagination," Morgan, from the University of Queensland, told AFP. ca.news.yahoo.com/world-first-hybrid-shark-found-off-australia-070347608.html

Montreal researchers create 'super soldier' ants January 6, 2012 7:42 PM ...The findings are groundbreaking for evolutionary theory, Abouheif said, because they show that dormant genes can be locked in place for millions of years, only to re-emerge as a result of environmental conditions. "Birds with teeth, snakes with fingers, and humans with apelike hair — these are ancestral traits that pop up regularly in nature," Abouheif explained. "But for the longest time in evolutionary theory, these ancestral traits were thought to go nowhere — slips in the developmental system that reveal things from the past." Now, the scientists believe these "slips" are actually dormant traits that are common to every member of a given species. "What we're showing is that environmental stress is important for evolution," Abouheif said. "Any time you have a mismatch between the normal environment of the organism and its genetic potential you can release (new characteristics) — and these things can be locked in place for 30 to 65 million years." ..."It's like with the doom and gloom of (talk about) global warming," Abouheif said. "As soon as you're changing the environment, you're unleashing this potential everywhere." www.montrealgazette.com/technology/Montreal+researchers+create+super+soldier+ants/5957930/story.html
