They just move the fukkers around, aiding and abetting, so clearly more people than Lahey should be charged. Straight to the top! Arrest the Pope. There are a lot of cases of cross-border exports of 'problematic' priests to new, fresh and unsuspecting parishes between Canada and the USA. Because this article is available as a cache only, I copied it entirely.

A court document has now revealed that when Raymond Lahey, 69, arrived at Ottawa airport after a flight from England on Sept. 15, a customs agent flagged him for secondary inspection after examining his passport and noticing the bishop had "extensive travel to source countries for child pornography".
The document -- an information to obtain a search warrant -- said Bishop Lahey had visited Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain and Germany since 2005.
The officer also noticed that Bishop Lahey was "evasive" with his answers, avoided "eye contact" and changed his "vocal tone" during specific questions, according to the document.
"When (the agent) asked if he had a laptop computer, Bishop Lahey hesitated and replied 'yes,'"
During the secondary inspection, another agent with Canada Border Services Agency found three images of boys in various sexual acts on his laptop.
lahey2The agent determined it was child pornography and arrested him for smuggling the material into Canada, according to the document, which was used by Ottawa police to seize Bishop Lahey's laptop and several electronic devices, which were in the possession of customs authorities.
Bishop Lahey was charged on Sept. 25 with possessing and importing child pornography. The next day he resigned his position as bishop of the Diocese of Antigonish - though his only explanation for leaving was he needed time for "personal renewal."
After Bishop Lahey was detained, he was interrogated by detectives from customs and the Ottawa police, the document said. Bishop Lahey told the officers the laptop belonged to him and that "he was attracted to males aged 20 to 21," said the document.
A forensic examination of Lahey's hard drive revealed at least five photos depicting mostly nude boys between the ages of eight and 12 in various poses and engaged in sexual acts. One of the boys had dark complexion, the other was blond.
Before he resigned, Bishop Lahey had overseen a historic, $15-million, out-of-court settlement with people who were sexually abused as children by a former priest at the diocese.
Lahey was given refuge this week by the Archdiocese of Ottawa at one its residences for priests. Bishop Lahey had nowhere to go, said Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast in a statement.
"In Christian charity, and believing it is the action that our Lord would want us to take, I have accepted that he stay," said Archbishop Prendergast.
At a short court appearance October 9, 2009, a judge agreed to allow Lahey to live at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in Ottawa until his trial begins.
Lahey was supposed to be staying in New Brunswick, but he requested the change after residents in that province complained about his presence.
The 69-year-old handed over his passport to police and will have to report to authorities on a biweekly basis.
The next hearing in the court case is scheduled for Nov. 4.
Ottawa police Det. Dan Melchiorre said the bishop's bail conditions were strict. "The conditions are very stringent...they are very strict conditions," he told reporters. "A lot of it has to do with the Internet, computers, that sort of stuff." He said that other conditions included restrictions on the bishop's presence "around children under the age of 18."

Police seized two computers after three separate search warrants -- one in Sydney and two in Antigonish -- were executed. Two computers and some external media were seized from the Antigonish search, which took place Tuesday afternoon, said RCMP spokeswoman Sgt. Bridgit Leger.
"In investigations of this nature, often times the images are not reserved to one computer," said Sgt. Leger. "History has told us, based on previous investigations, that there may be a number of computers or outlets utilized... To be prudent, we continued with our investigation here in this province."
However, if additional charges are to be laid, they will be separate from the Ottawa charges, she said.

www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=2083275#ixzz0vi4VmV9uUpdate October 16, 2009Ottawa police discovered hundreds of pictures and videos on Lahey's laptop computer, with many showing young males involved in sexual acts. The claims are contained in requests filed by Nova Scotia RCMP last week and released Friday to search Lahey's residences and office in Sydney and Antigonish. The search warrants say Ottawa police found 964 files in a folder called "downloads" along with 33 videos when they seized Lahey's computer at the Ottawa airport on Sept. 15 as he returned from the United Kingdom. Many showed what police believe to be teenage boys engaged in masturbation and other sex acts, the documents allege. The search warrants also state that Lahey said he chatted online and that the conversations were sexual in nature, but he believed the people involved were adults.
The documents allege Lahey, who has been charged with importing and possessing child pornography, also told Ottawa police he would never abuse a child or take advantage of a minor. The search warrants contain allegations not proven in court.

I have been following the Lahey thing since the beginning and there are some interesting things happening - don't take my word, check the following out for yourself. In like manner to the death of Pope John Paul where the Vatican in a few hours cleaned his entire apartment and got rid of any sign that he ever existed the church has done the same with Bishop Raymond Lahey. Check the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop's website. There is no record that Lahey ever existed - either on current or emeritus lists [There are articles in their archives]. Check the home page for the Archdiocese of Antigonish and you will see that all references to Lahey have been removed including changing Bishop Dunn's bio to remove Lahey who was the bishop who consecrated Dunn. (Note the different font). You can find an article in the Newfoundland Advertizer complete with picture of Lahey and Dunn together at the ceremony - October, 2008. Further you can go the Emmaus Centre newsletter for December 09 and at the end of the letter there is a notice from the CCCB to cut out opening letter and all references to Lahey in grades 7, 8, 9 catechisms. There is a complete denial of Lahey's existance even though he has yet to have his day in court and be convicted of anything. Try and find a copy of Lahey's resignation letter - it has been wiped - the church is good. Gotta love the way Catholics do things.
Update February 19, 2010Roman Catholic Bishop Raymond Lahey is to stand trial on child-pornography charges in the spring of next year. David Elhadad, an assistant Crown attorney, said Lahey's trial has been set for April 26, 2011, and is expected to last two weeks.
The 69-year-old bishop has been staying with other priests in Ottawa since he was granted bail Oct. 1, 2009.
Update April 9, 2010In a statement of claim filed in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, Todd Boland alleged Lahey fondled him over his clothes, and that the abuse happened on numerous occasions over several years. The alleged abuse happened in the mid 1980s when Boland was a resident at the infamous Mount Cashel orphanage.
Lahey, the vicar general of St. John's at the time, allegedly took Boland on car rides around the city, and allowed the 10-year-old boy to sit on his lap and steer the car."The boy was sitting facing forward, the priest was sitting facing forward underneath him, and there was sexual arousal present (by Lahey), according to the complainant," Stack said. "The sexual abuse itself, it would be at the lower end of the scale, except that it was the vicar general who was doing it to this young, impressionable boy."
Before moving to Nova Scotia Lahey lived in Newfoundland, and served as the bishop of St. George's in western Newfoundland.
Update April 23, 2010The RCMP say no charges will be laid in Nova Scotia against Bishop Raymond Lahey after they completed an "in-depth and thorough analysis" of computers and storage devices that were seized from his former residences.
This means that the only charges will be the original ones for possessing and importing child pornography on his laptop.
Last October, RCMP said they had seized one computer in the search of an apartment in Sydney. Another two computers were seized in Antigonish during a search of Lahey's home and his office in the town.
