El Paso gets right-of-way grant for gas pipeline July 13, 2010, 6:59PM ET HOUSTON Natural gas company El Paso Corp. said Tuesday that it has received a right of way grant for its Ruby Pipeline project from the federal Bureau of Land Management. The grant is subject to the company finishing agreements on federal lands along the pipeline's 680-mile route. The company says it will begin construction as soon as it gets the final nod from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The $3 billion pipeline is scheduled to be in use in March of next year. "Ruby will play an important role in linking abundant supplies of cleaning-burning natural gas in the Rockies to markets in western states," Jim Cleary, president of El Paso's Western Pipeline Group, said in a statement. The 42-inch pipeline will tap supplies in the Rocky Mountains and transport them to markets in California, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest, El Paso's statement said. It runs from a supply hub in Opal, Wyoming, to connections in Malin, Oregon. www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9GUEVLO0.htm

Obama Legalizes Horse Slaughter for Human Consumption November 28, 2011 at 2:52 pm Horse slaughter plants are legal again in the United States. Restrictions on horse meat processing for human consumption have been lifted. courtesy of Google Images In a bipartisan effort, the House of Representatives and the United States Senate approved the Conference Committee report on spending bill H2112, which among other things, funds the United States Department of Agriculture. On November 18th, as the country was celebrating Thanksgiving, President Obama signed a law, allowing Americans to kill and eat horses... Dear President Obama, ... During the 2008 campaign you said, "Federal policy towards animals should respect the dignity of animals and their rightful place as cohabitants of our environment. We should strive to protect animals and their habitats and prevent animal cruelty, exploitation and neglect.... I have consistently been a champion of animal-friendly legislation and policy and would continue to be so once elected." You announced that you had co-sponsored legislation to stop the sale for slaughter of wild free-roaming horses and burros. During the 2008 campaign you signed on as co-sponsor to the bill to ban horse slaughter for human consumption. When asked specifically during the campaign, "Will you support legislation ...to institute a permanent ban on horse slaughter and exports of horses for human consumption", you gave an unqualified "Yes". It's just too bad her husband is such a water-hogging conniving Texas gumbo wiener. T. Boone Pickens vs. Texas Water Conservation Board - 4.21.2010 It’s pretty obvious that this is going to lead to problems when entire regions depend on water from aquifers that cover thousands of square miles, such as the Ogallala Aquifer (approx. 225,000 square miles). The recharge and flow of water doesn’t respect property lines drawn on maps. Regulation and management of the resource for current and future public good is going to be necessary. blogs.ei.columbia.edu/2010/04/21/t-boone-pickens-vs-texas-water-conservation-board/“Blue Gold”: T. Boone Pickens and the Privatization of WaterSo when it was time to vote on allowing the creation of Pickens’ water district, the only people required to vote on it were the people who live on the land: Pickens, his wife and three employees. From Bloomberg News: Pickens “has pulled a shenanigan,” said Phillip Smith, a rancher who serves on a local water-conservation board. “He’s obtained the right of eminent domain like he was a big city. It’s supposed to be for the public good, not a private company.” Pickens and his allies say no shenanigans are involved. Once the district is created, the board will be able to issue tax-exempt bonds to finance construction of Pickens’s planned 328-mile, $2.2 billion pipeline to transport water from the panhandle across the prairie to the suburbs of Dallas and San Antonio.earthfirst.com/%E2%80%9Cblue-gold%E2%80%9D-t-boone-pickens-and-the-privatization-of-water/End Times? Texas Lake Turns Blood-Red - 01 August 2011 The color has some apocalypse believers suggesting that OC Fisher is an early sign of the end of the world, but Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries officials say the bloody look is the result of Chromatiaceae bacteria, which thrive in oxygen-deprived water. www.livescience.com/15346-texas-lake-blood-red.htmlBrilliant! Wild horses are driven into an arena to pick out young stallions in Duelmen, Germany on May 26, 2012. It is believed that this is the last herd of wild horses on the European continent; more than 300 of the indigenous horses stay free and wild without any care under the protection of the Duke of Croy. Once a year the new born stallions are caught and sold, but all mares stay with the herd and guarantee the survive of the endangered species. avaxnews.com/appealing/Pictures_Of_Recent_Events_33.html

Boone and Madeleine Pickens’ Super Sad True Divorce Story - Oct 4 2012, 11:12 AM www.tmdailypost.com/article/entertainment/t-boone-and-madeleine-pickens-super-sad-true-divorce-story__________________________________________ Bob Henderson, president of the Wild Horses of Alberta Society, would like to see the provincial government enact legislation to protect the animals and grant them status as a heritage species. www.calgaryherald.com/technology/Group+wants+better+protection+Alberta+wild+horses/7851609/story.htmlWe’ve looked at other provinces for guidelines, e.g., Saskatchewan’s Bill 606 – to protect the wild horses of the Bronson Forest, Heritage Species Act of Newfoundland recognizing the Newfoundland pony for the part it has played in the history of that province, the Sable Island ponies of Nova Scotia, protected under federal regulations. One only has to look at other countries throughout the world like Germany, Namibia, Spain and England who are protecting small pockets of what they consider to be wild horses who deserve protection due the part that they played in the history of their countries. www.wildhorsesofalberta.com/index.php/albertas-wild-horses-a-heritage-species-3/

During these trying times, is the only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is that Americans need to eat horses? Premium Horse Steaks Now Available Direct to Consumers: Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) March 31, 2013 Certified Steak and Seafood Company (CSS/CertifiedSteak.com) announced today that it will be offering premium quality horse steaks directly to consumers to complement their current offerings which include some of the finest beef steaks available anywhere. <snip> In 1971, the United States Congress recognized Mustangs as “living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West, which continue to contribute to the diversity of life forms within the Nation and enrich the lives of the American people.” But over-grazing combined with record drought conditions in the western United States has led to a decision by the Federal Government to reduce the size of free-roaming Mustang herds. Working with the Federal Bureau of Land Management, CSS has obtained an exclusive license to harvest 17% of free-roaming Mustangs in 4 western states. As a result, only CSS can offer horse steak from wild Mustangs. www.sfgate.com/business/prweb/article/Premium-Horse-Steaks-Now-Available-Direct-to-4398644.phpOnline Marketing through Press Releases
