Tories never sought permission to use ’72 Summit Series clip in Harper ad Posted on April 14, 2011 The marketing agency that licenses video of the Canada – Soviet Union 1972 Summit Series on behalf of the players says the Conservative Party never asked permission to use its footage in a Stephen Harper campaign ad. The long-form TV commercial has already made headlines in the U.S. for its uncanny similarity to a slick promotional spot for putative Republican presidential contender Tim Pawlenty. talkpos.wordpress.com/2011/04/14/harper-ad-lifted-footage-of-summit-series/

In 2006, Harper said none of his staff would 'get rich lobbying a future Conservative government.' But then his Senior Policy Adviser Ken Boessenkool did just that. He has lobbied Harper on behalf of pharmaceutical giant Merck Frost, law-breaking Egyptian telecom corp Globalive, oil criminal Enbridge and Taser International (right after the Taser murder of Robert Dziekanski sparked international outrage). shitharperdid.ca.nyud.net/

In 2008, Luc Pomerleau, a biologist at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, discovered secret government plans to weaken regulations & allow corporate food producers to conduct their own safety inspections. Pomerleau leaked the news and was immediately fired. Then the listeriosis meat outbreak killed 17 Canadians. shitharperdid.ca.nyud.net/There are literally 100 REASONS not to vote for Harper's Conservative Party #94 Gerry Ritz Jokes About Listeriosis Deaths. 100reasons.ca/94/******************* Minister sorry for 'tasteless' listeria jokes Published On Thu Sep 18 2008 SAGUENAY, QUE.–Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz was forced to apologize yesterday for "tasteless and completely inappropriate" jokes on an Aug. 30 government conference call during the listeriosis crisis. "This is like a death by a thousand cuts. Or should I say cold cuts," Ritz quipped after fretting about the political dangers of the crisis. And when told during the conference call about a new death in Prince Edward Island, Ritz remarked: "Please tell me it's Wayne Easter." www.thestar.com/article/501313

~ The Kelowna accord was a $5 billion breakthrough agreement to improve the quality of health and education for Canada's First Nation's Peoples. Harper canceled it in 2006, immediately after taking office. ~ In the 2011 budget, the Harper government failed to allocate any new funding for drinking water on First Nations reserves. 100 First Nations communities currently have water advisories, including 49 communities which are high risk. Harper also refuses to sign the UN Declaration designating clean water as a human right. ~ 'We detained, and handed over for severe torture, a lot of innocent people.' in 2009 Canadian Diplomat Richard Colvin shocked the nation with these words. In Afghanistan, Canada captured 6x more prisoners than the British and 20x as many as the Dutch. Colvin explained that 'Many were just local people: farmers; truck drivers; tailors, peasants...the likelihood is that all the Afghans we handed over were tortured.' ~ At the 2010 G20 summit in Toronto, Harper spent $1.9 million building a fake lake and nearly $1 Billion on security for the 3 day event. 1,105 arrests were made - the largest mass arrest in Canadian history. Only 99 criminal charges were laid. So everyone else was arrested, you know, just 'cuz. ~ Harper plans to double annual prison spending by 2015 (an increase of $5 billion annually), despite the fact that crime rates have been falling for a decade. ~ In Spring 2011, a federal court found that Harper's Conservatives broke election spending laws during the campaign which originally brought them to power in 2006. 4 Conservatives (including 2 Senators) currently face charges and possibly jail time. ~ In 2008, Linda Keen President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission reported that the aging Chalk River nuclear facility was at a risk 1000 times greater than the international average. Harper quickly fired her. ~ Stephen Harper weakened regulations so that more pesticide residue could be left on your fruits and vegetables. ~ Harper decorated the government lobby in parliament with photos of just himself, instead of the traditional portraits of former Prime Ministers. ~ shitharperdid.ca.nyud.net/************************* Canada raising limits on pesticide residues May 8, 2007 Think those grapes look suspiciously dusty? Better break out the veggie-scrubbers: Canada is set to raise its limits on pesticide residues on fruit and vegetables for hundreds of products. The move is part of an effort to harmonize Canadian pesticide rules with those of the United States, which allows higher residue levels for 40 per cent of the pesticides it regulates. Differences in residue limits, which apply both to domestic and imported food, pose a potential "trade irritant," said Richard Aucoin, chief registrar of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency, which sets Canada's pesticide rules. www.canada.com/topics/bodyandhealth/story.html?id=2fa3e7f8-9c83-4ea9-ad60-c13b548fe688See another thread: U.S. regulators lack data on health risks of most chemicalswww.pyrelog.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=genetics&action=display&thread=278

"Let me be clear" Canada's was among the largest, most quickly rolled out and most successfully executed of all those plans, which is why we have superior job creation in this country." That's rich, claiming credit for something his party was forced to do, under threat of a non-confidence vote and another election. *MORE SHIT* The opposition parties were so frustrated with the government's downplaying of the economy, they agreed on their own stimulus package, forcing an about-face. www.calgaryherald.com/news/decision-canada/Harper+stays+true+sense+history/4613106/story.html

remember these Ralph Klein blunders! * Holy Cross hospital sold shortly after $ 20 million was spent on renovations. We have a disqualified bidder allowed back into the process who wins the bid and then is allowed terms unavailable to any other bidder, and it turns out that the leader of that bid was a senior official of the Calgary health region. We have a hospital on 8.6 acres of prime land in the hottest real estate market in Canada being sold for one-quarter of its appraised value. Klein considers it acceptable practice to have a public tendering process in which bid conditions are changed for one bidder and not for the ... * Ralph Klein's attempts at damage control over remarks he made about the 1973 coup in Chile have landed him in even more trouble. An essay Klein put forward as evidence he is sensitive to the Chilean-Canadian community had substantial portions lifted off the Internet, academics say. * Klein made the decision to handsomely pad the profits of U.S.-based meat packers during the BSE crisis. It's only our money. * Klein saw no problem in elected officials maintaining direct ties with oil and gas companies. The most blatant example dates from 1995 when three Tory cabinet ministers -- Jon Havelock, Clint Dunford and Lyle Oberg -- joined with four other Tory MLAs to form 668344 Alberta Ltd. The numbered company, which purchased financial interests in new oil and gas drilling, quickly became better known by the nickname Tory Oil. communities.canada.com/calgaryherald/forums/p/37356/128344.aspx

It just depends who gets the money and who draws the plans. Public sell-off, Public buyback - September 23, 2007 Exactly 10 years ago, Calgary's health body sold the Holy Cross buildings to Enterprise Universal, a company owned by local eye surgeon Dr. Peter Huang, his two brothers and their mother. At the time, a furor erupted as public health administrators said Calgary had too many hospital beds; closing both the Holy Cross and blowing up the old General hospital would save $40 million to $50 million a year in operating costs. www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/story.html?id=b6341e8e-1788-4ce9-8c07-a8c2554a27ce&k=6305New Canada Health Accord 2014, that ought to be interesting, David Dodge. Severance packages, not to be confused with executive bonuses: "health superboard gave bonuses ranging from $19,000 to just under $130,000 in 2008-09 — a fiscal year when AHS almost tripled its deficit."

Constituent Information Management System (CIMS) campaign"The Responsive Marketing Group (RMG) was listed as a supplier for seven Conservatives and is a good example of party centralization. Flanagan (2007, 86 -- Yes, THAT Flanagan!) states that in 2003 this telemarketing company was tasked with coordinating “all” of the party’s voter-contact work and that RMG’s services “linked nicely” with the party centre’s “Constituency Information Management System” that stored voter identification data." CIMS = collected and stored voter identification data that was collected without the knowledge or consent of the people it belonged to. We should all be able to find out what is in our own CIMS files -- I am going to write today to find out about mine. In fact, when you see how Conservatives use the information, the average citizen would probably be very very glad that scientists, ideally free from political intervention, are tasked to manage the Census of Canada. They actually follow RULES, whereas the Conservatives don't even care about the PIPEDA regulations that all Canadian businesses and organizations have to follow. CIMS is an ethical nightmare that the Conservatives seem quite happy to continue with. www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=257710977525&topic=14325

the electrical infrastructure for so-called Albertans. $14B power plan will drive up your bill: report Calgary Herald April 22, 2011 A new report warns that escalating transmission costs will push pulp mills and petrochemical refineries off the grid, and leave residential and commercial consumers with bigger bills. The $14-billion cost of proposed transmission infrastructure will "render Alberta industry uncompetitive" and prompt many to generate their own electricity on site, the report says. www.calgaryherald.com/business/power+plan+will+drive+your+bill+report/4659708/story.html

Alberta's premier warns voters to choose carefully on federal election day - 4/28/2011 Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach is telling voters to really think about who they want in Ottawa after the federal election on Monday. He says he is worried that the NDP or the Liberals, who have both spoken out against the oilsands, could kill Alberta's and ultimately Canada's economy. Stelmach says the federal opposition parties, especially the NDP, have been promising to pour billions of dollars into pensions and health care, but without the main driver of Canada's economy, the oilsands, firing on all cylinders, it will be difficult to deliver on that promise. www.am770chqr.com/News/Local/Story.aspx?ID=1409673The west was never out.
